Every year a panel agrees on the most influential young Zimbabweans who have been making local headlines for different activities. 2016 has seen two of the Harare Global Shapers being named on that list list. The top five features Evan Mawarire of #This Flag Movement, Nigel Mugamu Founder of 263Chat, Lawrence Moyo Editor of H-Metro, Tawanda Mutyebere Founder of Chicken Slice and Chris Mugaga CEO of the Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce.
The two Harare Shapers come in at 44th, Tommy Deushele who is Creative Director of Simba Savannah. Simba Savannah is a local tv series much like the English Dragon's Den. The second shaper Alvin Nyika comes in at 70th. He is the founder of Core Foundation who facilitate the development of start-ups and small businesses through resource mobilization, creation of incubators, business linkages, trade promotion and nurturing of the entrepreneurial culture.
