The Coca-Cola Company started the Shaping a Better Future Grant Competition as a way to kick start change within the Global Shapers Community – accelerating promising Hub Projects, encouraging a bias for action, and taking projects to the next level. The Shaping a Better Future Grant Competition is a result of votes by Global Shapers for Global Shapers, self-selecting the six finalists that the Community feels best represent great potential for impactful change through scaling efforts.
Now in our second year of the Competition, we reflect on the incredible learning journey we have shared with The Coca-Cola Company. In 2013, Rome and Nairobi brought home the grand prize for their joint Hub Project, Powering Education, changing the lives of students in Kenya by providing increased access to environmentally safe and healthy solar lamps for studying.
No doubt, the success of the inaugural year of the Shaping a Better Future Grant Competition set the bar very high. And, as is no surprise, the 2014 submissions were outstanding. Certainly, your collective efforts will have a profound impact on the state of the world, and The Coca-Cola Company is proud to be your partner.
Let us congratulate the winners of the 2014 Coca-Cola Shaping a Better Future Grant Competition!
