The World Economic Forum’s Port of Spain Global Shapers Hub will locally support Global Dignity Day (GDD) 2015 - an internationally celebrated day aiming to empower youth - by facilitating activities at the Cascade Servol School, Port of Spain, on October 28, 2015.
Global Dignity Day defines “dignity” as, “The freedom to make decisions governing your own life and to have this freedom respected by others.”
GDD 2015 will be commemorated by facilitating a wide range of activities for the students of Servol School in Cascade, Port of Spain, and including dignity-based themes of identity, courage, and bullying on October 28, 2015.
Members of the GSC Port of Spain Hub, IAMovement, and special volunteers will be facilitating the morning programme and activities. Guest speaking at the event will be internationally reknowned West Indies cricketer Daren Ganga, while local artist Solman (POS Shaper Richard Solis) featuring Dexter Banfield will perform music, GDD Country Chair, Shaper and artist Ashley Thompson will lead a wall mural painting activity, and volunteer Robert Macfarlane will provide break dancing lessons.
