Willem fueled his passion for sustainable energy as the chairman of the Delft Energy Club for a year, which continued in the function of regional manager Europe for the Collegiate Energy Association. He developed new business models for the energy company Eneco during his internship there, he conducted market analysis of the offshore survey industry in South East Asia for the surveying company Fugro and did an investment banking internship at Lazard. During his engineering master’s degree in the honours program of applied physics at the Delft University of Technology, Willem completed two additional annotations in ‘Technology in Sustainable Development’ and ‘Entrepreneurship’. After which he embarked on his adventure to develop electricity generating windows, or PowerWindows, as the co-founder of PHYSEE.
